Branches continue to close with Halifax and Lloyds Bank announcing further closures

Lloyds Banking Group has announced the closure of a further 44 branches across England and Wales this year, with 29 Lloyds Bank branch closures and 15 Halifax closures. Lloyds retail director, Vim Maru, shared that there has been a significant reduction in transactions at these branches over the past 5 years. Many banks have stepped up closures since the pandemic as digital banking continues to grow. However, many continue to need access to cash and frustrations of not being able to speak with someone will continue to put pressure on innovations to ensure customer experience improves.
